World Speech Day has been running for a little over 10 years and during that time has been incredibly fortunate to act as a platform, live and recorded, for thousands of speeches from more than 100 nations across Earth. Speeches of extraordinary variety and warmth, words that have held true the original idea that led to the launch of World Speech Day : to share ideas for a better world.

The following speeches have been selected by the founder of World Speech Day, Simon Gibson, not because they are the best speeches or because they contain the best ideas, but because they have all meant something, moved him in different ways, perhaps marked a new event in a newly participating nation, or simply because chance made them stand out and want to be heard.

They all share and embody, in very different ways, the joy at the heart of World Speech Day: the simple power of the human voice.
